jetez cette sculpture à la poubelle is a site-specific, participatory performance imagined during a residency in Pragovka studios, Czechia, in 2024.
A sculpture about the size of the artist (140 cm) was created from found objects and readymade materials on site, and assembled over the course of a few weeks.
Upon completion, those in the studios were encouraged to break apart or add to the sculpture as they saw fit. The work was encouraged to be dismantled for souvenirs or parts, thrown in the trash, and/or modified at random.
This work seeks to explore the concepts of time, impermance, and the clinging of the artist to ego and self. This sculpture was created to be thrown away, readymade, disposable. This too shall pass. No condition is permanent.
